Things To Do In Shoreditch

There are plenty of cool and amazing things to do in Shoreditch. There are an array of art galleries and museums in Shoreditch and some great markets such as Spitalfields, Columbia Road, and Backyard Markets. In addition, shopping in Shoreditch is such a treat with plenty of vintage shops, Brick Lane Markets, Shoreditch shops on the High Street and so much more.  For some live entertainment, head to the Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen, which hosts a range of live music and DJ sets.

If you’re searching for somewhere to eat, there are plenty of Shoreditch bars and restaurants to choose from, including Indian, Italian, Chinese and Thai. In addition some of London best bottomless brunches.

Explore the Geffyre Museum, which is dedicated to the area’s history, or check out Stour Space, a converted warehouse that hosts art exhibitions and music events.

How To Get To Shoreditch In London

If you are looking to stay in the areas there are plenty of  Shoreditch hotels nearby, from One Hundred Shoreditch, Boundary Hotel, Citizen M, and Hoxton Hotel to name a few. There there are also plenty of buses and trains with easy access to the area.

If you’re driving, there are places to park that require payment. Four Underground stations serve Shoreditch: Liverpool Street, Old Street, Moorgate and Bethnal Green.

It is also well-connected by bus and cycle routes. If you are cycling in Shoreditch there are plenty of bike service centres in the area should you need a tune up.

London Airports To Shoreditch

I have shared another detailed guide on how to get from London Airport to central London. But specific to Shoreditch, details below.

London Gatwick Airport To Shoreditch: From Gatwick take the train to London Bridge. Once you come out of the London Bridge Railway station you have a few options.

You can walk over to the London Bridge underground and catch the Jubilee Line to Canada Water and change there for the overground line to Shoreditch. While that might seem easy it’s actually complicated if you have suitcases going up and down the escalator. Also, it takes much longer than say a bus.

When you come out of the London Bridge Railway station after disembarking your train from Gatwick, walk over to London Bridge and head to London Bridge Borough High St (Stop M) located on the London Bridge itself. Get on bus 149.

Once on the bus, it will only take about 10-20 before reaching Shoreditch High Street. Once here, get off at Bethnal Green Road (Stop L). The other options are taxis or Uber.

Uber might cost you about £50-60 from the airport or about £10-15 depending on how busy it is. Also factor in the train ticket from Gatwick, you may find it better to just uber from the airport. Particularly if you are in a group of 2 or more people.

London Heathrow Airport To Shoreditch: As mentioned above, if you are in a group of two or more it might be cheaper to split Uber or taxi costs if you factor in train tickets, number of changes required to get to Shoreditch and additional costs of combined transport methods.

Otherwise, from Heathrow to Shoreditch take the Piccardily Line from Heathrow to Kings Cross. Once at Kings Cross you have the option to change to other lines or take a taxi.
