Located a short walk from home is London’s favourite food market. Among the most famous of markets in London. You can find almost every cuisine so if you are hungry and want to eat your way around the world, head to Borough Market. On this occasion, I was in the mood for something sweet.
If you have eaten through the amazing food around the market and are looking for dessert then Borough Market has plenty to offer. There are plenty of bakeries in Brough market so expect everything from cakes, chocolates, sweeties, gelatos, and everything in between.
Perfect place to hunt for London’s best desserts. This time, I had my eyes and taste buds firmly on Bread Ahead doughnuts.
Doughnut Flavours You Need To Check Out
This tasty sweet snack has come a long way. All the way from the 1800 hundreds in fact. Whether you prefer yours with the hole in the middle or filled with fruit preserve, custard and in the case of the Bread Ahead Doughnuts in Borough Market, filled with flavoured cream, all are good in my books.
Bread Ahead doughnuts standard out from the usual sugared soft cushions of fried dough. These are light, soft, flavourful and also not as sweet as their counterparts.
There are plenty of flavours to try too. My absolute favourite is the pistachio, then blackcurrant cheesecake and then the original jam doughnut. Every single one is just a delight to taste.
There is always a small queue outside at their doughnut stand, which is located just outside their bakery and school. Add to your list these other flavours of doughnuts at Borough Market’s Bread Ahead stand to include:

These are definitely the best doughnuts in London! Hands down! Not even questionable! The doughnuts are so light and fluffy and I love the simplicity of them. The flavours are just delicious. Whether you are in London for one day or visting for 2 days, a visit to this Borough Market is a must.

Who Are Bread Ahead
Bread Ahead was founded in 2013 by Matthew. A chef that has spent nearly 2 decades working alongside some of the best chefs in the UK throughout the 90s. While the brand has now branched out to other locations in London, the Borough Market branch was the first one to be set up in 2000 as a bakery business.
This has now become a firm favourite not just among Londoners, but visitors far and wide across the globe now have these tasty doughnuts in Borough Market are firmly among the coolest things to do in London.
They also have a bakery school, which you will spot next to the main bakery. I have had the pleasure of checking out their courses having attended their Italian baking course held in their Borough Market bakery school. I also gave my niece a voucher to learn how to make their famous doughnuts and she loved it!
They run their baking workshops bakeries and schools in Pavilion Road, Chelsea, Wembley, and a café bakery in Beak Street, Soho. You can find the Soho one not far from the lovely Kingly Court food court near Carnaby Street.
The Bread Ahead Baking School is home to ever-popular baking workshops including Doughnuts, Great British Baking, Nordic and Gluten-free to name a few. Led by Bread Ahead’s masterful bakery school tutors, they offer insight into proper artisan baking.
Their intentions are to bring delicious and nutritious bread to people who love good food, and to give people the skills to create bakery magic at home. What more could one possibly want?!
