Established in 1872, the brand can be found on almost every high street in the UK and shopping on High Street Kensington is no different. Clarks in High street Kensington while smaller than many other branches still packs a lot of the men’s and women’s collections(unfortunately there were no children’s shoes on display during our visit).
James Clark and Cyrus have been shoemakers for a very long (around 1825). Their journey started almost 200 years ago when they created a slipper from sheepskin. At that time it was unbelievable. A mixture of craftsmanship and innovation is what continues in their work today.
Their quality is unmatchable. And even now, as always, each pair of our shoes starts with shoes carved by hand. A single block of hornbeam, advanced construction methods, modern materials and the latest technologies help them provide perfect tailor-made shoes for the new world.
From the very beginning, they have always carried out work differently. From the slippers built by them back in the 1800s to the foot-shaped shoe which was the first in this work, they are pioneers. Their products start from kids’ shoes to half-size, whole sizes, and an array of sizes.
From great designs to creative underfoot cushioning, quick prototyping and 3D printing, their striking ideas are what make them unique.
Inspired by the Japanese craft of Sashiko and American vintage, they have a distinctively original pack that combines authentic Japanese stitch detail with their most iconic silhouettes.
Traditionally made in geometric patterns with cotton thread on indigo blue fabric, they have stayed true to the authentic Japanese craft by combining premium blue suede and off-white embroidery with the authentic DNA of their original Desert Boot and Wallabee.
Clarks is not the only pioneer in shoemaking but a responsible company. To impact the future, people need to act today – and when people move together, small steps will become big strides.
This is what they believe in. They always unite with incredible change-makers, questioning the status quo and fueling global conversations to create a brighter future for us all.
Service in store is attentive and staff are on hand to help you pick a pair in-store or assist you with the online selection available.
